2401 Robinwood was listed in the 1891 Polk City Directory as the residence of John Marshall whose name also appeared as living here in the 1910 directory.  Mr. Marshall was a salesman in 1891 but by the time of the publication of the 1900 city directory, he was listed as the president of the Haughton Elevator and Machine Company.  The 1929 directory listed Maggie Marshall, the wife of John W. Marshall Sr.  Edwin Marshall of Marshall & Fraser boarded here in 1896.  The family's live-in domestic in 1896 was Lean Knack and Mary Smolke in 1900.
