2364 Robinwood

Built in 1893, the mansion at 2364 Robinwood was Dr. Kirkley's Private Hopital or better known as the Robinwood Hospital for Women.  The 1896 Polk City Directory listed Alwild Bulger as the matron of the hospital.  That same year nurse Rose Keenan resided here along with domestic Kate Hogan.  The 1918 and 1921 city directories listed Wilber Owen, of Owen, Owen & Crampton.  Mr. Owen's biography and personal photograph appeared in Toledo & Lucas County Vol. 2 on page 484.  Ida (Weden) Owen was his wife.  The other unit was occupied by Walter Brown, a lawyer with Brown, Hahn & Sanger in both 1918 and 1921.
