2357 Robinwood

2357 Robinwood was designed by the architectural firm of Mills and Wachter and built around 1894. The 1896 Polk City Directory listed Edward Witker of the Witker Manufacturing Company as its occupant.  Mr. Witker's name appeared in the 1900, 1918 and 1921 city directories also.  He was the president of the St. Charles Hotel Company in 1900 and the secretary-treasurer of the Witker Manufacturing Company.  The 1918 and 1921 directories listed his occupation as comptroller of the Toledo Chevrolet Motor Company. Those same years, Eloise Witker, a librarian at Scott High School, roomed here.  In 1900 Mrs. Alice Schrumm was the family domestic.
