2232 Glenwood-Robert Barton Home
 
2232 Glenwood as it appeared in 1937.  The mansion was designed by architect Edward Fallis and built in 1890 for Robert Barton, an attorney with Dewey, Rodgers & Company.  The 1896 directory listed John Merrell of the Merrell Buggy, Implement and Seed Company.  His biography appeared in Maumee Valley, Toledo and the Sandusky Region Vol. 4 on page 181.  The live-in domestic in 1896 was Matilda Ramm.  The 1900 directory listed Roswell Coburn, the father of John' wife Ida (Coburn) Merrell.   Nurse Alwilder Bulger was employed and Anne Measley was the live-in domestic that same year.
