This home, located at 2257 Scottwood, was owned by William and Cora (Steele) Brigham.  The 1900 Census also listed their 17 year-old daughter Bessie and their black domestic Reed Miller.  He was in the canned goods business.  His biography appeared in Toledo & Lucas County Vol. 3 on page 625.  The property, according to the 1910-1912 city directories, became home to broker William Brown Jr. his wife Louise, daughter Heul, son James, nephew Joseph Gilman and grandfather James Hall.  The 1918 directory listed lawyer Frank Lewis of Doyle & Lewis as the resident.  Robert Cummings of the Martin V, Kelly Company lived there in 1921.
