2239 Scottwood
 
2239 Scottwood was listed in the 1891 Polk City Directory as the home of Phebe Ballard, th widow of James Ballard, along with  Henry Ballard, a clerk with the Merchants' Dispatch.  That same year Wallace Allen, a pressman at A. D. Pelton & Company and Helen Rowland boarded here.  The 1896 directory listed John Barber, a dentist, and Louisa Schneider as the live-in domestic.  According to the 1910 Polk City Directory, the occupants of this home were Lizzie King, boarder Ella King and domestic Gertrude Miehls.
