2248 Parkwood
 
2248 Parkwood was home to Thomas Slack who died in June 1890.  His widow, Louisa Slack, and his son Thomas Slack Jr. lived here according to the 1891 Polk City Directory.  William Lewis, a freight agent, boarded here according to both the 1896 and 1900 directories.  Augusta Hebner was the live-in domestic in 1900, while Katherine Greener was the maid in 1910.  Dr. Horace Allen was the occupant according to both the 1910 and 1921 directories.  His biography appeared in Toledo & Lucas County Vol. 3 on page 55.  His wife was Mildred (Smith) Allen.  Clayton Everett, a lawyer, lived here in 1912 also.
