Irving Hiett had his house originally built at 2241 Collingwood in 1887 and had it moved due west to this location.  The 1896 Polk City Directory indicated that George Stahl lved at 2255 Parkwood.  His business was real estate and loans. That same year, Benjamin Moore with Stahl's firm, boarded at the house.   Minnie Lahr served the family as a live-in domestic in 1896, while the 1900 directory indicated that the domestic was Catherine Blake and Cora Andrews was the cook.
