No. 12 Birckhead Place was the home of Carl E. Mehring.  Mr. Mehring was the owner of The Carl E. Mehring Company which advertised itself as "Builders and Architects".  His office was located at 555-559 The Spitzer Building.  "Mehring-Built Homes" were known for their originality, quality and character.
