Architect David L. Stine designed this Colonial Revival residence for the John Barber family of 2146 Fulton.  This home at 2271 Scottwood Avenue, built in 1894 for $2,000, still has its original carriage house.  Mr. Barber was in real estate. and by 1911 was the vp of the Toledo Life Insurance Company.  The Barber family was still listed as the residents in 1911, but the 1912 directory listed Albert Wright as the resident.  In 1912 Mr. Wright was the president of the Wright, Russell & Bay Company among other titles.  Later in 1918 he was listed as the treasurer of the Russell & Jennison Company.  His wife was Belle Wright.
