The September 5, 1914 issue of the Toledo News Bee contained an article stating that Willis F. Day of 2217 Glenwood took out a permit to build 2251 Scottwood at a cost of $7,639.  The 1918 Polk City Directory listed Willis Day as the resident at 2251 Scottwood.  Mr. Day was the president and treasurer of the Brown, Eager & Hull Company.  His son Willis Day Jr. was a salesman with that same business. The 1920 Census listed Mr. Day, his wife, son Willis J. and his wife Ernestine Day.  Willis J. Day eventually sold the 1914-built home in 1958.
