2255 Robinwood was built in 1892.  The 1896 Polk City Directory listed LaMonte Bateman, the secretary of the Toledo Tube Company as the resident.  Mr. Bateman remained living in this home as the 1910 directory listed him as the occupant and the president and general manager of the Ophthamoscope Company. Edna Bateman, a teacher, boarded here.  By the time of the 1918 directory's publication, Aaron Kelsey was the resident. His biography appeared in Toledo & Lucas County Vol. 3 on page 156.  Marie Zinn served as the live-in domestic according to the 1900 city directory.
