Built in 1919, George and Caroline Lathrop lived in this duplex from 1920 until 1924.  Caroline would sell the property in December of 1930.  Mr. Lathrop's occupation in the 1921 Polk City Directory was listed as postmaster.  Their son Albert was listed as a clerk with the Libbey-Owens Sheet Glass Company who roomed at the same address, but in 1918 lived at 2560 Robinwood.  Son Walter was listed as a student.  The other unit's resident was Ora Smith, the vice-president of Grace E. Smith Cafeteria at 513-17 Madison.
