The Brand home, built in 1897, is located at 2107 Parkwood.  Herman Brand was the secretary of the Toledo White Lime Company according to the 1900 Polk City Directory and by 1910 was listed as the manager of the Toledo Chewing Gum Company.  By 1921, the city directory listed Brand as "with the Second National Bank".  The 1900 directory listed Mary Mackin as the live-in domestic.
