2721 Parkwood

The 1918 and 1921 city directories listed Earl Sala, an inventor with an office at 320 Valentine Building, as the occupant of 2721 Parkwood.  The 1921 directory listed Mr. Sala as the president of the Earl V. Sala Patents Company.  The March 15, 1937 issue of the Toledo News-Bee reported that a chimney fire did $900 in damages to the home at 2721 Parkwood.  Earl Sala Jr., who was 15 years old and home with influenza, had to be carried out.  Mr. and Mrs. Sala escaped along with their three other children safely.
