According to the Lucas County Auditor's records, the house at 2701 Parkwood was constructed in 1915.  The 1918 Polk City Directory listed D. B. Eppstein, a lawyer, as the resident.  Joseph O'Neil lived here in 1918.  Mr. O'Neil was the manager of the B. R. Baker Company.  The 1929 directory listed John Bartley, the vice-president of the R. A. Bartley Company.  In 1929 Virgina Bartley roomed here.  His widow, Julia (Schneider) Bartley still lived here in 1935.
