Now-demolished 544 Virginia is seen in this circa-1945 photograph.  The house to the left in this view still stands on Parkwood at Virginia while the home to the right has also been demolished for a surface parking lot for the First Congregational Church.  544 was home to Foster Wilder, boarders Foster Wilder Jr. and David Wilder Jr. in 1891and Norman Church of Eager & Church in 1900.  The 1910 city directory listed Walter Gayhart as the resident of this home.  Mr. Gayhart was a lawyer and dealt in real estate.  Florence Davis, the widow of Owen Davis, lived here according to both the 1918 and the 1921 city directories.
