2412 Putnam
 
Charles Gamble, a Toledo architect since 1907, lived in this imposing home at 2412 Putnam by 1910.  He operated at this location from 1951 until his death in 1956.  Mr. Gamble designed the old News-Bee building, Jackson and Huron, which was built in 1912.  His other buildings of note included the Heather Downs Country Club, the Sisters of Notre Dame on Secor Road, and many Toledo Zoo structures.  Mr. Charles Murphy Gamble and his wife Jennie had two children, Virginia and Frederick.  His early training was with Bacon & Huber and by the 20s was a partner with Frederick Bates.
