2211 Lawrence, former home of the George Jones family and in later years Garner Home for Funerals, saw its destruction in 1968 to vacate land for the construction of the I-75 expressway.  Mr. Jones was the president of the George M. Jones Comapny, which sold wholesale coal and coke.  New garage doors (#2287) were added in 1917 and new cabinets (#2977 Mills, Rheinhart & Bellman) were added to the house in 1926.
