439 Floyd

439 Floyd was home to William Burgess, a foreman, in 1900.  Martha Burgess, a teacher, and Margaret Burgess, a student, roomed here. Mrs. Ellen Snell was the resident by 1910.  Frances Snell boarded here in 1910 as well as Margorie Snell, a stenographer with the National Union Senate.  Ross Ayers, a moldmaker, was the occupant in 1921.  The April 22, 1938 Toledo News-Bee reported that Mrs. Mae Smith of 439 Floyd took an oath of naturalization.  Because she had married an alien before February 27, 1922 she had lost her citizenship.
