Lot # 20 of the Hamilton's Extension of Baldwin Heights saw the construction of 623 Kent Place around 1910.  The 1910 Census listed Joseph J. Huber, his wife Cora, and sons Carl, John and Robert at 2311 Locust.  Joseph Huber was the resident of this home according to the 1910, 1918 and 1921 city directories.  During his residency, the name of his street was changed to Baldwin Place.  Mr. Huber was a traveling salesman for the grocery house, R. A. Bartley.  Roomer Karl Huber whose name appeared in the 1918 and 1921 directories became a clerk with Basch & Company by 1921.
