529 Acklin
 
529 Acklin was constructed in 1887 and in 1891 was the home of Mary Nickels, the widow of Gilbert Nickels.  Mr. Nickels had died March 29, 1891.  The 1910 directory listed Mrs. Nickels as a dressmaker who worked from her home.  Florence Nickels and Charles Nickels, students in 1900, lived here and by 1910 Charles was the president of the Nickels, Jackson & Lavenberg Company.  His biography appeared in Maumee Valley, Toledo and the Sandusky Region.  His wife was Marion (Crozier) Nickels.  Their daughter was Mary Nickels.
