The 1900 Polk City Directory listed James Kerlin, the vice-president of the Kerlin Brothers Company, as the resident.  Declan Allen who business was real estate and insurance was the occupant according to the 1910 and 1911 city directories. The 2/17/1900 issue of the Toledo News-Bee reported that Mr. Allen of 337 Floyd took out a permit for a $4.500 house to be built on Putnam Street.  Blacque Wilson who was the managing editor of the Toledo Blade lived here in 1912 and John Gillett in 1918 with Sarah Stebbins as the live-in domestic.  The 1921 directory listed physician William Heintz whose office was in the residence. Maion Heinz was listed as a roomer.
