1919 Collingwood-Kumler Home

The Kumler Home at 1919 Collingwood was designed by Norval Bacon.  Built in 1888 for lawyer John Kumler and his wife Charlotte.  The 1900 Census revealed that their household included children John Jr., Langdon, Roy and Fredrick Kumler and Ireland-born servant Mary McDermot.  It later became home in the 1920s to the Janes-Franklin School.  After its demolition, it was the site for the Toddle House restaurant from the 1940s unitl the 1960s.  It is now the location of a parking lot.
