1891 saw the widow of John May boarding at 2901 Collingwood.  A 1875 map of Toledo shows John W. May  as the owner of a tract of land from Adams Railroad (now-Collingwood) to the Monroe Turnpike (now Detroit Avenue).  This land was located opposite Boston St. (now Boston Place).
