The home of Clarence Brown at 2007 Scottwood was the scene of a fire caused by a lightning strike on August 20, 1900.  The two-story frame home suffered a $300 loss in which a firefighter was injured.  The family moved into a brand new home at the same address in August of 1903 according to a society news article in a local newspapr.
