Upon her death in 1911 Eliza Kent left a $25,000 trust for book purchases.  In her honor the Eliza M. Kent Branch Library, opened in 1917 on Collingwood and Central.  The new branch, one of five new Carnegie gift buildings, was designed by Louis G. Welker.  The library sat on the site of the former Earl Wade home.  Mr. Wade was the treasurer of the B. F. Wade & Sons Company which sold goldfish and acquarium supplies from 1327 Summit according to the 1911 and 1912 city directories.
