The Jacob Gerold home was built in 1905 from plans drawn by the architectural firm of Langdon & Hohly.  The 1907 directory listed Mr. Gerold.  The 1910-1913 city directories listed widow Susan Gerold and Budd Hickman, a saloon owner.  1921 saw Allen Gutchess, the asst. sec. of the DeVilbiss Mfg. Co. and Lida Gutchess, the widow of Frank.  Their live-in domestic was Catherine Oster.  The 1930 Census listed the widow Gutchess, mother Lida Devilbis, daughter Betty and domestic Emma Weise. In later years, Marie Griswold who was one of Toledo's female police officers lived here.  Later she owned Griswold Realty.
